- Neck: Laminate of quartersawn
utile and Irish walnut with veneer details.
The headstock is faced with Irish walnut.
Neck width at nut = 1.69" (43mm),
width at body joint (fret 14) = 2.2"
(56mm). Depth at fret 1 = 0.83"
(21mm), depth at fret 10 = 0.94"
(23.8mm).
- Fingerboard: Quartersawn
Indian rosewood with MOP dot markers.
Scale length is 25.55" (649mm).
Radius is 16" (406mm).
- Machines: Schaller Mini gold
with acrylic pearl buttons.
- Frets: 20 Dunlop 6230, medium
high, medium wide, hard nickel silver.
- Top: Bookmatched quartersawn
Canadian sitka spruce, hand graduated
and tap tuned. Bracing of quartersawn
sitka is scalloped for lightness and
tone. Bound with maple and multiply
veneers.
- Back and sides: Quartersawn
khaya mahogany with Irish walnut centre
panel in back (3 piece back) bound
with maple. Back bracing is quartersawn
yellow cedar.
- Body dimensions: Width at
upper bout = 10.5" (267mm), at
waist = 9.75" (248mm), at lower
bout = 15.875" (403mm). Depth at
neck = 3.94" (100mm), at tail =
4.57" (116mm). Body length 19.9"
(505mm)
- Bridge: Figured Irish walnut
with compensated micarta saddle. Rosewood
bridge pins.
- Finish: More than 15 coats
of satin, acid catalysed lacquer.
- Strings: Thomastik SB112
12-52.
- Pickup: Highlander undersaddle
piezo with Highlander audiophile pre-amp
built into tailpin. Battery is on the
neck block.
- Comments: All woods selected
for tonal quality and appearance. The
guitar is not built to take strings
stronger than 13 gauge.
