Comments: Josh used the last of some very special Tasmanian Blackwood from my collection for this guitar. I couldn't be more impressed. The genius of Josh House is quite apparent in every detail of this fine work.
First and foremost this guitar has a HUGE sound and moves an immense amount of air. It displays a unique complexity and there are actually "sounds inside sounds." Blackwood is a very well rounded wood and, in the hands of a Luthier of Josh's caliber, excels in all areas of the the sonic spectrum. The vibrations blend with incredible harmony and the overall responsiveness of this guitar is simply amazing. It appears to work well for just about any style from the most delicate fingerstyle pieces to the
most aggressive flatpicking songs. From a purely aesthetic perspective this guitar features an array of very artistic details. The wood is planned perfectly so the flow of lines create a wonderful balance. As always the craftsmanship is awesome!
Josh has also made a couple important design changes worth mentioning. His necks are now reinforced with carbon graphite. This allows for maximum stability for open tunings. Also all of his guitars are now constructed with hide glue. Josh now includes a Hiscox case with his guitars as well.
We are taking quite a few custom orders for House guitars these days. It is no surprise considering they are priced considerably less than other comparable builders. The general consensus is that if something seems too good to be true it usually is. I'm here to tell you...its true...these guitars really are a bargain!
